Step 1) Put the cartridge on some paper towels in an area where you can tolerate a spill.
Step 2) Using a #55 or 1/16"(2mm)bit drill two holes, one at the translucent side panel and one at the vent. The vent hole is a hole at the opposite side of the translucent panel on the opposite side the cartridge.
Step 3) Notice that there is small hole at the side of the vent. Use this hole as a starter and enlarge it with the drill so the needle will pass through.
Step 4) For the cartridge, fill the syringe 15 to 17 ml. Insert the needle fully through the drilled hole.
Step 5) S-L-O-W-L-Y inject the ink into the sponge. Insert and withdraw the needle at different angles to expose the entire sponge to the ink. Inject deeply.
Step 6) Cover the hole immediately with a small piece of vinyl electrical tape making sure the outside is dry so the tape forms a good seal.
Step 7) With the remaining ink inject it into the vent so as to saturate the sponge inside.
Step 8)Stop filling if you notice ink bubbling out.
Step 9)Set over a paper towel for an hour as a drip precaution. Don't allow the printhead to touch the paper towel or all of the ink will be drawn out. Expect a few drips -- If it doesn't drip, the ink is not ready to print. It is not necessary to seal the hole except during long storage and transportation.
