Refill Instructions

Step 1) Put the cartridge on some paper towels in an area where you can tolerate a spill.

Step 2) Put the cartridge in front of you. Turn the cartridge so that the label is up and the ink exit is down. Place the end where the ink exits closest to you. The word "Epson" should be at top left with the Epson triangle pointed upward away from you.

Step 3) Drill a hole to the right of the Triangle about 25 percent of the way from the right hand side. This hole should be drilled with a #55 or a 1/16th inch (1.5mm) drill bit.

Step 4) Inject the cartridge with about 15 ml of ink in syringe.

Inject S-L-O-W-L-Y to fill the entire cartridge. Be sure to remove and re-insert the needle a few times to expose the entire sponge to the ink.

Step 5) Cover the hole with a piece of electrical tape.

Step 6) Set above a paper towel for an hour as a drip precaution. Expect a few drips -- they are necessary. Cover all holes during storage to prevent leaks and evaporation. If excessive leaking occurs, the fill hole may not be properly sealed, or the cartridge may be overfilled.

Don't let the paper towel touch the cartridge directly during this step, or the paper towel will draw the ink out of the cartridge.
